LEGAL NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED LOCAL LAW. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE there has been introduced before the Town Board of the Town of Canadice, County of Ontario, State of New York, Local Law Number 1 (Intro) of 2025 entitled: A LOCAL LAW AMENDING CHAPTER 92, ADDING ARTICLE II, NEW ON-SITE INDIVIDUAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that pursuant to Article 20 of the Municipal Home Rule Law, a public hearing will be held before the Town Board to entertain comments pertaining to the aforesaid proposed Local Law at the Canadice Town Hall, 5949 County Road 37, Springwater, New York at 7:00 pm on Monday, February 10, 2025. PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that copies of the proposed law are available for review in the office of the Town Clerk at the Town Hall during regular office hours. All interested parties are invited to attend in person or by zoom and be heard. The Canadice Town Hall has barrier-free access for the physically handicapped.

NOTICE OF RECEIPT OF TAX ROLL AND WARRANT
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT I, EILEEN SCHAEFER, the undersigned Collector of the Taxes for the Town of Canadice, County of Ontario and the State of New York, have duly received the tax roll and warrant for the collection of taxes within the Town of Canadice for the year 2025. I have fixed the following place and dates for receiving taxes:
Canadice Town Hall, 5949 County Road 37, Springwater, NY 14560 from January through March 31, 2025 - Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday between the hours of 8:30 am – 4:30 pm and Saturday between the hours of 9:00 am and 11:00 am. TAXES ARE ALSO PAYABLE AT ANY BRANCH OF THE CANANDAIGUA NATIONAL BANK DURING THE MONTH OF JANUARY--FULL PAYMENTS ONLY. Payments may also be made by mail to the Canadice Town Tax Collector at the above address.
TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that taxes may be paid on or before January 31, 2025 without a penalty. On all taxes received after such date, there shall be added interest of one percent for the month of February and two percent for the month of March.
TAXPAYERS have the option of a two-payment installment plan. The first payment (one-half of the total; 1st installment amount indicated on the tax bill) must be paid by January 31st, and the second installment (one-half of the total plus interest) is due on or before March 31st. Pursuant to the provision of New York State Real Property Tax Law Section 987, effective June 1, 1990, all tax collecting officers must send a notice to each taxpayer whose taxes remain unpaid on March 16, 2025.
TAXES UNPAID by the close of business on March 31, 2025 will be turned over to the Ontario County Treasurer for collection.

- Rob Smith and/or Jacqueline M. Brown and/or the Estate of Jacqueline M. Brown are the owners, occupants or individuals having an interest in the premises at 7039 Ross Road, Springwater, New York 14560 (“Premises”) on which is located a barn structure (“barn”) that has been determined to be unsafe pursuant to Chapter 58 of the Canadice Town Code. The record attorney for Rob Smith is Jonathan Lorge, Esq. and no other attorneys are known.
- The property is located at 7039 Ross Road, Springwater, New York 14560 (Town of Canadice, County of Ontario), being further identified as tax map parcel 187.00-2-22.100.
- The barn located at the Premises has been deemed unsafe as it is dilapidated and the presents a safety hazard as it will collapse and is overrun with debris and rubbish as stated in further detail in the Town Board’s Resolution dated January 13, 2025 and report kept on file in the Office of the Town Clerk. A true and complete copy of this notice and the resolution and report have been certified mailed to the identified persons of interest to this property.
- YOU, AS OWNER OF THE PARCEL OR SOMEONE HAVING AN INTEREST IN THE PARCEL, ARE HEREBY ORDERED TO REMOVE THE BARN AND DEBRIS AND RUBBISH IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE JANUARY 13, 2025 RESOLUTION AND ORDER OF THE TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF CANADICE.
- THE SECURING AND/OR REMOVAL OF SAID BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES SHALL COMMENCE WITHIN THIRTY (30) DAYS OF THIS NOTICE AND SHALL BE COMPLETED WITHIN SIXTY (60) DAYS THEREAFTER. SAID STRUCTURE AT 7039 ROSS ROAD IS TO BE SECURED AND IS NOT TO BE OCCUPIED UNLESS AND UNTIL IT IS AUTHORIZED BY THE CANADICE CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
- A HEARING IN RELATION TO SUCH DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE BUILDING WILL BE HELD BEFORE THE TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF CANADICE ON FEBRUARY 10, 2025 AT 7:00 PM AT THE CANADICE TOWN HALL LOCATED AT 5949 COUNTY ROAD 37 IN SPRINGWATER, NEW YORK (TOWN OF CANADICE AND COUNTY OF ONTARIO) AT WHICH HEARING ALL PERSONS HAVING AN INTEREST IN THE PREMISES SHALL HAVE THE RIGHT TO CONTEST THE ORDER AND FINDINGS OF THE TOWN BOARD.
- That in the event such owner, occupant or other person having an interest in said Premises shall fail to contest such order, and neglect, refuse or otherwise fail to timely comply with the same, the Town Board will confirm its order and the Town will proceed to remove the unsafe barn and debris and rubbish and the Town will assess all costs and expenses incurred in such removal and disposal to the land on which such structure is located pursuant to §58-10 of the Canadice Town Code and New York State Town Law.
